SA Power Networks has designed and built a feeder automation system for its high voltage network in South Australia that automatically and seamlessly restores power to customers within one (1) minute of fault detection using intelligent field devices and Advanced Distribution Management control systems. The system has delivered a step change in reliability to customers connected to lower-performing feeders.

The feeders are divided into discrete sections using intelligent field devices

ADMS Integration:

Smart field devices instantaneously advise the Advanced Distribution Management System of the fault, which send commands to isolated the faulted section of feeder and determines the optimum restoration strategy in under 40 seconds
